WE LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER

On the field and off it. That's what this club is for.

Masters rugby runs on mateship. And mateship means showing up for each other โ€” not just on match day, but when things get hard off the field too.

This page exists because we know that blokes in their 40s, 50s and beyond are carrying a lot. Work, family, health, loss. If you're doing it tough, or you're worried about a teammate, there's no wrong way to reach out. Start here.

OUR MENTAL WELLNESS PARTNER

PAKARI

In 2026, Vic Masters Rugby partnered with Pakari โ€” a locally-owned Melbourne mental health organisation founded by Jason and Bri. Jason has been pulling on the Vic Masters jersey for over 13 years. This partnership was built from the inside out.

Pakari provides counselling, NDIS Recovery Coaching, Support Coordination, and Mental Health First Aid training for individuals, families and workplaces. They don't treat mental health as a clinical problem. They treat it as a human one.

THE TIGHT FIVE

The Tight Five is our internal welfare crew โ€” the people within Vic Masters Rugby whose job it is to look out for the group.

Named after the five forwards who hold the scrum together, because the blokes holding the scrum are also the ones holding each other up off the field.

If you need to talk, or you're worried about someone in the club, reach out. No drama. No judgment. Just a conversation.
