Bayside Masters

Bayside Masters are Melbourne’s newest Masters Rugby Club, founded in 2023.  Based in the grand Bayside suburb of Brighton, our members come from all over town and include people from all walks of life and all parts of the world.  We have a strong emphasis on fun, fitness, mental health and community.

Aside from our core group of passionate VicMasters Rugby players, we also run Touch Rugby and Fitness sessions (typically Sundays 4-6pm) as well as having an active social calendar.

Melbourne Chargers RUFC

The Melbourne Chargers is Melbourne's gay and inclusive rugby team. The club formed in 2009 with the purpose of creating a rugby team where new players could learn the game in an accepting environment and players who had left the sport because of their sexuality could play openly.

We aim to contribute to the promotion and development of the sport of Rugby Union in Victoria and to provide a new and diverse social opportunity for same-sex attracted people.

Melbourne RUFC

The Unicorns’ Masters team, the ‘Gerries’, welcome players who might be returning to the game after a bit of a lay-off; those who might be new to the game but have always fancied giving it a go; and those who’ve decided that the days of playing grade are now behind them. Many of the players are parents of Junior players – who love watching Dad get smashed around on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoyment of the game and each other’s company is the foundation stone of the ‘Gerrie’s’ ethos. They still like winning as well.

Powerhouse RUFC (The Cardies)

Power House masters are affectionately known as the 'Cardies'. This refers to their after games tradition of wearing eye catching cardigans. The 'Cardies' are associated with the Power House RUFC based at Albert Park and Power House Junior RUFC based in Newport, Melbourne.

We formed in 2013 and are arguably Australia's most successful over 35s side, having won multiple Australian Masters Games and back to back champions of Victorian Rugby Union Masters Grand Final day.

The Cardies are renowned for having a powerful forward pack, and an elegant back line. They play hard, competitive rugby but emphasise the social spirit of over 35s Rugby.

Whilst the Cardies have had a lot of success they play the game for the game itself. Players are welcome from all parts of Melbourne and Australia to be part of a rich tradition of over 35s rugby success. Join our club if you are passionate about rugby, family orientated and humble.
